Setting house rules, maximum occupancy and arrival times
Record who may stay, which behaviour rules apply and the times when guests arrive and leave.
Open House rules
Choose your accommodation and open House rules. This is where you record practical arrangements for the stay. Keep the rules specific and align them with the description, sleeping layout and arrangements you communicate to guests in advance.
Setting occupancy and use
- Enter the maximum number of guests.
- Indicate whether pets are allowed and set a maximum number if needed.
- Decide whether events, smoking and commercial filming are permitted.
- Enable quiet hours where applicable and enter their start and end times.
- Enter the arrival times and latest departure time.
- Write any additional house rules in the active languages and save everything.
Times are different from weekdays
An arrival time, such as between 15:00 and 20:00, describes the time window on the arrival day. The permitted weekdays for arrival and departure are managed under Rates. To allow arrival only on Fridays, use a rate or stay rule rather than a time setting under House rules.
Additional rules and charges
Use the additional text for arrangements that do not fit a fixed option, such as taking care of shared spaces. Write this text yourself for each language in which you want it displayed. Do not mention a deposit or pet surcharge only in this text: also record the amount correctly under Service charges so the cost breakdown is accurate.
Check the full rules on the accommodation page and during booking. The homepage initially shows a brief summary; the button for all house rules opens the complete information.
