Increasing or reducing prices by a percentage

Use the standard rate as the starting point for a new period, with a surcharge or discount and optional rounding.

What does the percentage setting do?

When adding a period rate, you can increase or reduce all completed standard prices. Homadu uses this to create the new period’s initial values. It is not a discount code for guests or a continuing link that follows later changes to standard prices.

The adjustment covers the nightly price, weekend nightly price, completed packages and price per additional person per night, among other fields. An empty price field remains empty. The number of included guests and booking rules are copied without a percentage adjustment.

Apply a price adjustment

  1. First check the current prices of your standard rate.
  2. Add a new period under Rates and enter its name and dates.
  3. Enter a positive percentage for an increase, for example 15. Use a negative percentage for a discount, for example -10.
  4. Optionally enable rounding to whole euros.
  5. Save the period, then open it to check or further refine the result.

An example with rounding

With a standard nightly price of €83, a 15% increase gives a period price of €95.45. Rounding to whole euros makes that €95. A 10% discount on €80 gives €72. The same calculation is applied separately to the other completed price fields.

After creating the period, also check the additional-person price and packages. Do you want a higher nightly price but no weekly package in the period, for example? Edit the period and clear the unwanted package field.
