Setting included guests and surcharges for additional people

Determine how many guests the rental price covers and the surcharge per additional person per night.

The included number is not maximum occupancy

Under Included guests, enter how many people the rental price covers. This differs from the maximum number of guests allowed to stay in the accommodation. Manage maximum occupancy under house rules.

For this rental surcharge, Homadu adds adults and children together. Babies and pets do not count as additional people. To charge separately for baby equipment or a pet, use a suitable service-charge type.

Set the surcharge

  1. Open your accommodation and go to Rates.
  2. Edit the standard rate or the period for which you want a different surcharge.
  3. Enter the number of Included guests.
  4. Enter the amount under Price per extra person per night. Leave the price field empty if you do not want to charge an additional rental surcharge.
  5. Save and check the price with different numbers of adults and children.

Calculation example and periods

If two guests are included and the surcharge is €15, two adults with one child pay €45 extra for three nights. Adding one baby leaves this person surcharge at €45. A baby cot can still count as a separate service.

A period rate can have a different included number and surcharge. The standard settings are copied when it is created; check them afterwards in the period form. The system calculates each night using the settings that apply on that night.

An empty surcharge field within a period rate does not automatically activate the surcharge from the standard rate. Also check the period settings if an expected surcharge is missing.
