Updating the address and map location

Correct the full accommodation address and check how it appears on the public location map.

The map uses your address

Homadu builds the public location map from the accommodation’s address details. The combination of street, house number, addition, postcode, city, region and country is used to look up the location. A correct, complete address is therefore the first thing to check when the map shows the wrong place.

Correcting the address

  1. Open Accommodations and select the correct property.
  2. Go to General.
  3. Check the selected country.
  4. Correctly enter the postcode, house number, any addition, street and city.
  5. Check the region where applicable.
  6. Save the changes and reopen the public accommodation page.

Check the location on your website

Go to Location on the public page and view the map. Check not only the city name but whether the street and surroundings look correct. Changing the surroundings description does not change the map; that description is intended to explain the neighbourhood.

For addresses that occur in several places, the combination with postcode, city and country is especially important. Avoid using a business or postal address when you want to show the holiday property’s actual location.

If the map is still incorrect

First check that you are viewing the correct accommodation and that the change was actually saved. The current setting works through the address and has no separate field for dragging a map pin or pasting coordinates from another website. If a fully correct address still produces an incorrect map, or no map appears at all, contact Homadu and include the accommodation and address you checked.
