Describing the surroundings, distances and activities
Give guests a practical picture of the area with a translatable description, distances and available activities.
Help guests understand their stay
Under Location and surroundings, describe what makes the neighbourhood attractive and which useful facilities are nearby. Use this section for information beyond the address, such as the character of the area, excursions and distances to commonly used facilities.
Adding a description and places
- Open the accommodation and choose Location and surroundings.
- Enter the area description in the active languages.
- Select the relevant nearby places from the available options.
- Enter their distances in kilometres.
- Select the activities available in the area.
- Save the settings and check the public location and surroundings information.
Entering clear distances
Enter distances in kilometres. For 500 metres, use 0.5 kilometres; for two kilometres, use 2. Choose a distance you can substantiate and a clear way of measuring it. If somewhere is only reached on foot or via a detour, explain that in the description.
Activities and places are selected from the available list. The description provides space for context, such as cycling being popular or a beach being busier during peak season.
The map and description use different information
The location map is based on the address under General. An area description or distance therefore does not move the map. Check the address and map separately if the location shown is wrong. Write your own area information in the other active languages as well; Homadu does not automatically complete these translations.
