Managing translations of your text and settings
Complete your own text in each active language, check required fields and preserve existing content when your language selection changes.
Translate your own text
Homadu provides translatable fields for accommodation and room descriptions, additional house rules, area information, safety explanations, licence labels and guest emails, among other things. Use the language selector beside the relevant input to edit content in each active language.
The available interface translations are different from your own text. If you write an English description, Homadu does not automatically create Dutch or German content from it.
Completing translations carefully
- First check the active accommodation languages under General.
- Open the section you want to translate.
- Write or check the content for each relevant language.
- Save the section and read any messages about required language fields.
- Open the public page in the same language and check the result.
Requirements differ between sections
A licence label or email subject may be required in every active language. An additional explanation may instead be optional. Follow the messages for that form; missing text in another language may explain why saving does not work.
Keep important information consistent across languages. If you change key collection arrangements or house rules, for example, also update the other language versions. For guest emails, check whether existing scheduling needs to be refreshed.
Disabled languages retain their text
When you disable an accommodation language, previously saved translated content is retained. Merely hiding a language does not remove its text. Deliberately clearing an active text field and saving may remove the text for that language. Review old translations when enabling a language again later so visitors do not receive outdated information.
