Setting accommodation languages and the default language

Choose the guest languages available for each accommodation and decide which is used as the default.

Languages are chosen per accommodation

Open General for the accommodation you want to configure. This is where you choose the languages in which you offer that property and select the default from them. Different accommodations can therefore have different language selections.

The language selector at the top of your management environment is different: it determines the interface language you work in. It does not automatically translate your accommodation text or activate other guest languages.

Changing the language selection

  1. Go to Accommodations and open the correct property.
  2. Open General and find the language settings.
  3. Select at least one available language.
  4. Choose one of the selected languages as the default.
  5. Save your changes.
  6. Open the translatable sections and complete the new language fields.

An extra language also means extra content

After adding a language, check accommodation and room descriptions, house rules, safety information, licence labels and email templates, among other things. Some sections require text in every active language. Activating a language does not write that text for you.

Legal pages are shared across your rental website. The editor considers the languages used by your accommodations. Check those pages too whenever you add another accommodation language.

Temporarily disabling a language

You can remove a language from the selection as long as at least one remains and the default is still selected. Existing translations in disabled languages are retained. If you enable a language again later, review the old content: stored text may now be outdated. Finally, check the public language selector on the accommodation page.
