Offering optional extras with quantities

Let guests choose the number of breakfasts, linen sets or other items themselves.

When should you use a per-item charge type?

Use a per-item charge type when guests should be able to choose a quantity, such as two linen sets or one cot. A per-person charge type instead uses the travel party entered and does not offer a free choice of how many people take the service.

Choose from Per item per stay, Per item per night and Per item per day. Per night multiplies the chosen quantity by all nights. Per day also counts the departure day. Make clear in the name exactly what one item means.

Set up the extra and quantities

  1. Open Service charges and choose Add service.
  2. Select a per-item charge type and enter the price per item.
  3. Enter the minimum and maximum number of items. The maximum must not be lower than the minimum.
  4. Leave mandatory off if the guest may choose this extra. Enter a name, explanation and any validity period, then save.

View the result on the booking page

Two linen sets at €12 per item per stay cost €24 together. Two items at €5 per item per night cost €30 for three nights. Check the quantity selection and change it once to see whether the cost overview matches your offer.

A mandatory item also has a quantity. The configured minimum is then required; guests can optionally choose more within the permitted limits. A validity period does not automatically distribute the chosen quantity or costs over individual days.
