Making service charges apply only during a certain period

Determine when a service applies and understand what happens when a stay only partly touches the period.

A period determines whether the service applies

You can set a start and end date for a service. Homadu checks whether at least one overnight stay in the selected stay falls within that validity period. The last configured day counts as an overnight date. Merely touching the departure date is insufficient, because the guest no longer stays that night.

Use this for a seasonal extra or a temporarily different service. Leave a date boundary empty if you do not want a limit on that side of the period. Always view the result with a stay before, within and across the period’s boundary.

Set the dates

  1. Open Service charges for the right accommodation and add a service or open the existing service for editing.
  2. Enter the validity dates and check that the end date is not before the start date.
  3. Check the charge type, price and mandatory setting, then save the service.
  4. Select a stay on the website that partly touches the period and view the calculated amount.

No automatic apportioning over overlapping nights

Once the service applies, Homadu uses the full stay length for a per-night or per-day amount. The validity period does not split the calculation.

A stay from 10 to 15 June has five nights. A €2-per-night service valid on 12 and 13 June applies to this stay and costs €10. The amount is not €4. A per-stay service is charged once. This differs from period rates for the rental amount, which are calculated separately for each rate segment.
