Setting bed types and sleeping places
Record the beds present in each room and separately check your accommodation’s permitted occupancy.
Beds belong to a room
Add beds in the room where they are actually located. This makes your accommodation’s sleeping arrangement understandable for guests. The available bed types distinguish different kinds of sleeping places; choose the type that matches the actual bed.
The number of beds is not automatically the same as the number of people. A double bed and two single beds may offer the same number of sleeping places but create different expectations about the layout.
Adjusting the quantities
- Go to Rooms and photos for your accommodation.
- Open the room you want to change.
- Find the bed types section.
- Enter the number of beds for each type present.
- Set a bed type that is no longer present to zero and save the change.
- Check the sleeping layout shown on the public accommodation page.
A practical example
If Bedroom 1 contains one double bed and Bedroom 2 contains two single beds, enter these quantities in their own rooms. Do not count two single beds as one bed or create an extra bedroom merely to indicate a second bed. An existing room can contain multiple bed types.
Also check maximum occupancy
Adding beds does not automatically change the maximum party allowed to book. Set this under House rules. After a change, check both the beds and the maximum number of guests. Explain special sleeping arrangements, such as a sofa bed in a shared space, clearly in the room description and show them in the photos.
