Completing room descriptions and room amenities
Explain what makes a room distinctive and assign amenities to the space where guests will find them.
Distinguish between room and accommodation
A room description explains a specific space, such as its layout, view or accessibility. Room amenities also belong to that space. General features of the entire property are set under the accommodation’s Amenities section.
For example, you can explain that a bedroom is upstairs or that a bathroom is directly connected to a bedroom. This helps guests interpret the photos correctly.
Updating the description and amenities
- Open the accommodation and go to Rooms and photos.
- Select the room you want to complete.
- Enter the room description in the available language fields.
- Select the amenities present in the room amenities section.
- Save each changed section and check the confirmation.
Write specific text in each active language
Use a short description with information that the photo does not already show. For example: This bedroom is on the first floor and is reached by stairs. Also enter the text for other active languages. Homadu does not automatically translate your own room description.
If you change the layout later, update the text, selected amenities and photos together. Otherwise an outdated description may give a different impression from the current room photos.
Check the photo gallery
Room descriptions are used when presenting that space in the public photo gallery. Open the gallery on your website and check the room in the correct language. For amenities available throughout the property, such as a general facility, use the separate accommodation section so guests do not have to guess whether it applies only to that one room.
