Setting how far in advance guests can book

Use minimum advance notice and the booking horizon to limit last-minute requests and stays far into the future.

Short preparation times and advance bookings

Minimum advance notice is the number of days required between today and arrival. With two days’ notice, someone cannot request arrival today or tomorrow. A value of zero does not by itself exclude same-day arrival.

Maximum advance notice forms the latest booking horizon in Homadu. The system checks whether the departure date falls within the configured horizon. A stay that begins in time but ends after that horizon therefore cannot be booked.

Set the time window

  1. Go to Accommodations > Rates and open the standard rate.
  2. Enter minimum advance notice in days.
  3. Enter maximum advance notice in days. It cannot be lower than the minimum.
  4. Save and check an arrival shortly after today and a departure at the furthest boundary.
  5. If necessary, edit a period rate to use different minimum advance notice there. The maximum horizon continues to come from the standard rate.

Consider the entire stay

With a thirty-day horizon, the latest departure day can fall no more than thirty days from today. If a guest wants to arrive only then and stay another week, the stay does not fit. Set the horizon generously enough for the advance bookings you want to receive.

An unlimited maximum number of nights does not disable this horizon. A long stay starting in a special period must still end before the latest departure boundary and be free of blocks.
