Why is a date unavailable when there is no booking?

Investigate stay rules, calendars and preparation time when a date appears closed.

Availability involves more than bookings

A date can be free of bookings and still not be a valid arrival or departure day. Homadu checks the selected stay length, permitted weekdays, advance notice, booking horizon and preparation around other events. It must also be possible to calculate a suitable price for the overnight stays.

Minimum and maximum stay conditions come from the arrival date’s rate. The permitted departure day is assessed on the actual departure date. Two selections with the same arrival date can therefore have different results.

Check these items in order

  1. Under Availability, check for a manual block, option or imported event.
  2. Under Rates, check which standard or period rate applies on the arrival date and whether the stay length fits.
  3. Check the permitted arrival day and the rules on the selected departure date.
  4. Review minimum advance notice, the latest booking horizon and preparation time around bookings.
  5. Test a complete selection with arrival, departure and travel party on the public website.

A period rate is not a hard stay boundary

For example, a period rate runs through 18 December and requires at least three nights. An arrival on 17 December may continue after 18 December if other rules and availability allow it. The end of the period rate does not by itself block that arrival. Prices after the rate boundary do come from the next applicable rate.

An imported block can also come from the other platform’s availability settings. Check the source feed rather than just the reservations list at that provider.
