Keeping time around bookings for preparation and cleaning
Prevent back-to-back stays when you need time to prepare or clean the accommodation.
When should you use these settings?
Cannot clean and welcome the next guests on one changeover day? You can reserve extra time around bookings. This time affects availability. It is not an additional paid night for the guest or a cleaning-charge rule.
The setting for the day before check-in follows the rules on the arrival date. Cleaning time after check-out follows the rules on the departure date. This matters when a stay crosses a period-rate boundary.
Enable or disable preparation time
- Open the desired accommodation and go to Rates.
- Edit the standard rate or an existing period.
- Enable the option to block before check-in and/or the cleaning day after check-out.
- Save and check the time between two successive stays.
- At a period boundary, also test a departure outside the special period to see which cleaning rule applies there.
Check an example
Without extra time, two stays can follow each other on the same departure and arrival day if all other rules allow it. Cleaning time can exclude such a direct changeover. Check not only the booked nights in the calendar but also the days immediately alongside them.
For a one-off deep clean or renovation, it is better to add a manual block. Rate settings are intended for recurring time around bookings; a manual block closes a date range you choose yourself.
Set a cleaning fee separately under Service charges. Enabling a cleaning day does not add an amount to the rental price.
