Setting cleaning charges and tourist tax
Use suitable charge types for fixed cleaning and tax that depends on your guests.
Final cleaning as a fixed amount
Do you charge the same cleaning amount for every booking? Under Service charges, add a Final cleaning service with the Per stay charge type. Enter €60, for example, and make it mandatory. Homadu then adds €60 to the stay charges once, regardless of nights or guest count.
If cleaning is already part of the rental price, you can use Included to make this visible. Avoid including the same charges in the rental price and charging them again as a mandatory surcharge.
Match tourist tax to your rules
- First check which calculation and exceptions apply at your accommodation’s location.
- Add a Tourist tax service and choose a matching charge type, such as Per adult per night.
- Enter the correct amount, make the service mandatory where applicable and explain in the description whom it applies to.
- Check what amounts your guest sees for a stay with adults, children and possibly babies.
Check the calculation with an example
At an example amount of €2 per adult per night, two adults pay €16 for four nights. A per-person charge type would also count children. Per day additionally counts the departure day. These are different calculations, even when the entered price is the same.
Homadu does not automatically determine municipal tax rules, age exemptions or special exceptions. Check for yourself that the chosen charge type accurately reflects your local situation; do not use the example amount as advice for your location.
