Finding your website and accommodation in Google
Check your public pages, language versions and dynamic sitemap without confusing discoverability with a guarantee.
Start with an accessible public page
An accommodation must be visible before visitors and search engines can open it as a public page. First check Status and actions and view the website outside the management environment. Use a clear name, an original description and recognisable photos that represent the accommodation well.
Your domain must also be accessible. A custom domain becomes primary automatically once the hosting connection is active and the SSL certificate has been issued. Public pages on the other connected address redirect to this primary address.
Viewing the sitemap
- Open your public rental website on the domain you use.
- Add /sitemap.xml after the domain name.
- Check that visible accommodations and their available language versions appear.
- If you hide an accommodation or change its languages, check the sitemap again afterwards.
The sitemap is generated dynamically from current public data. You do not need to upload an XML file manually. Management pages and booking requests containing personal information are not pages to offer through the sitemap.
Do not expect immediate search changes
The sitemap helps search engines discover public URLs. Google decides when to visit, include or update a page in its search results. A saved change may therefore appear immediately on your website while a search result still shows the old text.
Keep addresses and content consistent
Check shared links whenever you change the accommodation title or domain name. Complete active language versions carefully and keep descriptions current. A sitemap does not guarantee any particular position or listing. If a page cannot be reached at all, resolve its visibility or domain connection before assessing the search result.
