Setting up automatic guest communication: an overview

Combine standard booking messages with your own automatic emails around arrival, departure and the stay.

Two types of messages

Homadu uses standard messages for important stages of a booking request and also supports your own automatic email templates. A status message belongs to a request or status change. Use your own template for additional information, such as arrival instructions or a review request.

You manage these templates for each accommodation. Instructions for one property therefore do not have to be sent to guests staying at another accommodation.

Set up the communication

  1. Open the accommodation and go to Email templates.
  2. Review Current templates and the available example templates.
  3. Choose the message you want to add and complete its subject and content in the active languages.
  4. Set the event, day offset and time.
  5. Enable the template, save it and check the preview.

When your own emails are scheduled

Automatic template emails are scheduled for accepted bookings. An open request does not simply start the entire arrival and departure message sequence. The chosen event determines the base date; the offset determines how many days before or after it the email is due.

There is a separate replanning option for existing accepted bookings. Use this deliberately when changed instructions should also apply to those bookings.

Check the booking

Open a booking and view Communication to find recorded messages and their status. Check the recipient address and language as well as the content. Previewing a template does not send a test email to the guest. To test the full flow, use a recognisable test request with your own email address.
