Understanding a booking’s cost overview
Read the saved rent, price breakdown, service charges and security deposit without confusing them with your current rates.
The price belonging to this booking
Go to Bookings, open the booking and look at Cost overview. This shows the amounts saved for this booking. A later change to your standard rate, period rate or service charges does not automatically recalculate an existing booking.
Rent is the price of the stay itself. Other lines can include additional guest surcharges, mandatory service charges and the extras selected by the guest. An included service can appear with a zero amount, making it clear that it is part of the stay.
Viewing the price breakdown
- Find the Rent line in the cost overview.
- Click Show price breakdown if this is available for the booking.
- Review the consecutive parts of the stay, the number of nights or packages and their amounts.
- Compare their sum with the rent, then check the remaining cost lines.
Dates in the price breakdown run from arrival to departure for that part. For example, 23–24 December means one overnight stay. A stay from 23–30 December can consist of one ordinary night, five nights at a period rate and then another ordinary night.
Distinguishing total and security deposit
The security deposit is displayed separately. The total including security deposit is therefore higher than the ordinary total when a deposit applies. Also read the name and explanation of the cost line: a security deposit is not additional rent, and you arrange its collection and return with the guest.
Older bookings may not have the detailed price breakdown. Homadu then shows the saved cost line; it does not invent a new calculation from your current rates. The overview is also not proof that the guest has already paid.
