Permanently deleting a booking
Understand how deletion differs from cancellation and only delete bookings whose details you no longer need.
Delete or change the status?
Delete booking permanently removes the booking from Homadu. Use this, for example, for an incorrect test request. For a real stay that will not go ahead, declining or cancelling is usually appropriate: you retain the record and the guest receives a status message.
Deleting sends no message to the guest. It also does not retract a confirmation previously sent by email. Agree first on what should happen to an existing guest reservation.
How to delete the booking
- Open Bookings and find the correct booking by reference, guest or accommodation.
- Click View and check the stay dates and cost overview.
- Keep any details you still need in accordance with your own administration and retention policy.
- Click Delete booking and read the warning in the confirmation window.
- Confirm with Delete booking. You return to the booking overview.
Effects on the calendar and history
The booking and its linked booking details, such as cost lines, communication and scheduled messages, are no longer available as a booking record afterwards. Associated calendar events disappear too. Other blocks or availability rules may still restrict the same dates.
Deleting a booking does not delete your entire account and is not a general erasure of information kept elsewhere. It also does not independently remove a reservation from an external rental platform.
This action cannot be undone. If you only want to record that a stay will not take place, cancel the booking instead of deleting it.
