Updating existing scheduled emails after a template change

Decide deliberately whether new content and timing should also apply to messages already scheduled for accepted bookings.

A scheduled message keeps its own content

When Homadu schedules an automatic message, the required template content is saved as a snapshot. A previously scheduled message therefore does not change unnoticed when you later edit the same template. An update may apply to new scheduling while existing messages retain their previous content.

Replanning existing bookings

  1. Open the accommodation and go to Email templates.
  2. Edit the relevant template.
  3. Change the text, translations, event, offset or time.
  4. Enable Replan existing bookings.
  5. Save the change and check the relevant bookings and messages.

Homadu then re-evaluates existing accepted bookings for this template. New valid schedules may be added and schedules that no longer apply may be removed. This is especially useful when instructions or sending times also change for upcoming stays.

A practical example

Your arrival email contains an old key collection address. Saving the template alone does not guarantee that previously scheduled arrival messages have been updated. Use replanning so the current instruction is processed for those messages too. Then check an upcoming accepted booking.

What this does not undo

Replanning does not recall a message from a guest’s inbox or change an email already sent. If the guest has already received outdated instructions, clarify those arrangements separately. Also consider past scheduled dates: do not use replanning as a way to send every old message retrospectively.
